New Members

• Committees   -  All members need to volunteer to assist on one or more of the club standing committees.  This helps each of the committees to get their tasks done and is a great way to meet other club members.   Click Here for a brief description of the committees and what tasks they need help with.

Potlucks

Potlucks are held on Saturday evenings about every two weeks, usually the same day as club races.  Each potluck is hosted by a member of the club and the hosting goes toward the members work hours as well as being a fun way to meet the other members of the club.   Click here to see a brief guide to hosting a pot luck.   The club will help to defray the cost of the pot luck.  The e-board sets the maximum amount that can be reimbursed each year.

• How do I get access to the member-only features of the website?
  • First, you must be a member of CLSC :-).
  • Second, click on the "Sign up for an account" button on the right side of the blue box with the login fields. This will take you to the Signup page.
  • Third, type in your email address and the current padlock combination in the areas provided and click the "Process Signup" button. The email address you use must be the one we have on record.
  • If all goes well, an automatically generated password will be sent to your email address. You may then go back to the Login page and enter your email address and password to log into the site as a member.  Best to go to the Home page first.
    
  • Since the password generated is randomly chosen, you will probably want to change it. To do that, click on the "Update My Info" link (above the Logout button). That will take you to the update page. You can type in a new password there. You can also update your other contact infomation as well. You can also give yourself a username. This can be used in place of your email address when logging in.  This is not required.

• How do I get on the club e-mail list
  • There is now a button on the lower left on the web pages that allows you to signup for the e-mail list.   You can also go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/carterlakesailingclub  and signup from there.   If you already have a yahoo groups login then doing this will allow you to have access to all of your groups via the web site. 
• I did the above, why didn't I receive my automatic email from the website?
  • Some people are having problems signing up for an account due to over-aggressive spam filtering. The sign-up process for this website involves the web server sending email to your email address on record. Some spam filters filter out this email, which contains a temporary password needed to log on. Most spam filters put the filtered (spam) email into a special location. If you didn't receive the email sent from this website when signing up, please check this location (which will vary depending on which spam filter you use).
