Welcome to winter!  Quite the shift in weather since we removed the slips a few weeks ago.

The schedules for next year are beginning to fall in place.  A few upcoming events include the Fall Banquet (November15th--see Social Committee report), the Denver Boat Show (January 15-18) and the 1st SAIL racing seminar (January 21 in Denver).  The Carter Lake Open Regatta will be held June 5-6, and we have also been selected to host the Carter Lake Junior Olympic Festival on July 31st.  The Festival will be an open junior regatta and details will follow.  SAIL will be sending the winner to the Junior Olympics to compete.  Details will be posted as they become available.

The website is continually changing.  Please visit all sections to see what is happening.  Over the next few weeks you will see additional sections in the secured section which will be on interest.

I want to thank everyone who helped with a record slip pull out this year, as well as all the Committee Chairs who have worked diligently over the past year to keep your club and it's facilities running smoothly.  Elections will be held at the banquet.  If you are interested in helping or chairing a committee (especially Clubhouse), please let me know before the banquet.

Thanks for a great 2003 season.  Great regattas, racing, social events, an expanded junior camp, a new web site, education and training seminars, and of course the 50th anniversary party.  Our club membership hit record levels this year as well.  It all comes from your input, work and passion.

  MEMBERSHIP REPORT  -  SHIRLEY CONNALLY

All of the work hours logged in the Work Hours Log have been charted and posted in the secure area of the website.  So be sure to check your hours.  If you are short, you can contact Dale Quakenbush, Clubhouse Chair, for suggestions on things to do to bring you into good standing.

The Log Book will be at the Fall Banquet in Fort Collins, so if you need to post hours you can do so then.  We are a working club and it is the hours all of us contribute to the club that keep our costs down and make the club such a cohesive, successful one.  Be aware that if you are short on hours for the season, you will be classified as “not in good standing” and will be unable to retain slip rights or membership rights next year.

Thanks,

Shirley Connally

SLIPS COMMITTEE REPORT - MIKE MORGAN

I would like to thank everyone that helped on the amazingly smooth slip Pull-Out. The club set a record, never before have we been able to finish pulling both the Slips and Breakwater in one day. Although we had a smaller turnout that prior years everyone that was there worked very hard and efficient.

As for remaining work, we will need small crews a couple of times this winter. As the water rises we will need to pull the Courtesy Dock and Breakwater in closer to shore.

Thanks again for the fantastic job at slip Pull-Out and I will see you at the Fall Banquet.

Later, Mike Morgan

PS: On a non related subject. We are putting a Bareboat trip together for next June. We are hoping to get a number of boats together in a flotilla. Currently we have two boats full of members and friends. Anyone interested give me a call.

CLUBHOUSE  COMMITTEE REPORT -  DALE QUAKENBUSH

It was a great day for slip pullout and clubhouse cleaning. Thanks to all who helped clean, as the clubhouse was put into great shape. It is winterized and put away for the winter. the CLSC sun fish are under the clubhouse roof this year on the deck and they looked happy. One of them leaked a fare amount of water and the bottom is in pretty bad shape so if work hours are needed and someone has fiberglass repair skills, there is some work to do. See all on the 15th for the fall banquet.

See you all there.

Dale Quakenbush
